Partnership enters its third year

For the third year in a row, students from Penn State University visited us this week with their professors Gina Whalen and Kate Zimmerman as part of their Cultural Intelligence program. As in previous years, our Sales Manager Christian Busch and our Commercial Manager Daniel Schweizer welcomed the students to Erkrath and reported on their experiences of working in an international context.

Many of our employees experience the importance of understanding other cultures and the associated peculiarities and working methods every day when they work with customers, suppliers, partners and colleagues abroad. This creates a lot of potential for solving problems using different approaches and perspectives, but can also easily lead to misunderstandings. It is important to act with sensitivity and the necessary tact, which our colleagues demonstrate on a daily basis.

Penn State's program was created a few years ago to provide students with hands-on experience in intercultural competence, particularly in management and leadership roles. For many of the participants, it was their first trip to Germany or even outside the USA. We are proud of this partnership and are delighted to be a part of the experience that these young people are having.
