Bon voyage wheelset assembly press

MAE RADS 2-200 Pääkaupunkiseudun Kaupunkiliikenne Oy

Another successful FAT of a RADS 2-200 wheelset press for servicing wheelsets for metros and trams. The aircraft will later be in service in Helsinki.

Last week, the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the RADS 2-200 (two pressing cylinders with 200 tons each) of our valued Finnish customer Pääkaupunkiseudun Kaupunkiliikenne Oy took place in our premises in Erkrath. For us, it is always a great pleasure welcoming our customers to our factory, especially after we got used to perform FATs in the absence of our customers due to COVID-19. Thankfully, we got back to normal.

During the FAT we observed the pressing and measuring of M100, M200 and M300 (wheels and brake discs). The press later will be operating in Helsinki, making sure the metro and tram trains in the city remain up and running. After this successful test, the wheelset assembly press is ready for shipment now.

We thank Pääkaupunkiseudun Kaupunkiliikenne Oy for the very good co-operation throughout the entire project and are already looking forward to installing our machine in their depot soon.

One machine, many advantages

Our RADS 2-200 very well meets the requirements of metros and trams all over the world, due to:
- Accuracy
- Flexibility (all types of wheelsets)
- Sustainability (lowest energy consumption in its class) and TCO
